From well-established franchises like Supremacy, Big Farm, and BitLife to niche games, we span many different genres, including strategy, simulation, RPG and action, and casual and mash-up games.Goodgame Studios are building a new cross-platform 4X strategy game on top of a proven large-scale foundation (ROFB engine with Unity client + Java backend). To ensure long-term success, we are looking for a Senior Analyst In-game Economy who will act as the data authority for all progression, monetization, and retention systems.This role is distinct from Game Balancing: while Balancers design and configure systems, the Analyst provides the data backbone. You will analyze player economies, validate balancing assumptions, forecast KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to Game Design, Monetization, and Product. Your mission is to ensure every feature - from FTUE to endgame - is supported by solid evidence and quantified outcomes.YOUR MISSION Build and maintain SQL queries and database models (SQL/Snowflake) to extract, validate, and interpret in-game economy data. Conduct deep research into existing balancing systems: analytically break down, document, and understand how every stat, effect, and formula functions. Deliver deep-dive analyses on progression speed, resource flows, sinks/faucets, combat performance, and monetization funnels. Build and run simulation models to project the impact of system changes; provide estimates and scenario outcomes for proposed designs and balancing updates. Forecast KPIs (e.g., retention, ARPU, ARPPU, LTV) and model long-term player lifecycle scenarios. Support Game Balancers with data-driven validation of formulas, stat curves, and economy pacing. Collaborate with Monetization to evaluate offers, sales, and VIP progression from a profitability and fairness perspective. Provide ad-hoc reports and dashboards for Product and Leadership to inform roadmap decisions. Design and evaluate A/B tests, ensuring statistical significance and clear learnings. Translate raw data into clear recommendations for feature tuning, LiveOps, and content pacing. Document economy KPIs, trends, insights, and simulation outcomes in a transparent way to support cross-team collaboration. YOUR BACKSTORY 5+ years of experience as a Game Analyst, Economy Analyst, or Data Analyst in free-to-play live games. Proven track record working with ingame economies and progression systems in MMO, 4X, or strategy titles. Expert SQL skills: joins, window functions, performance-optimized queries in MySQL/Aurora. Strong Excel/Google Sheets mastery, including advanced formulas, pivoting, Solver, and scenario modeling. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Python, R, or BI dashboards (Tableau, Power BI) is a strong plus. Solid understanding of statistical methods: cohorts, churn, retention curves, LTV modeling, and experiment design. Ability to collaborate closely with Game Balancers, Monetization Directors, and Product Owners. Excellent communication skills in English and ability to explain complex data in simple, actionable terms. WHY JOIN US?
