The »« department develops technologies and application-oriented solutions for cutting along the entire process chain - from process design and pre-process simulation to real-time data acquisition during production, consulting, and prototype manufacturing. The employees conduct research in many innovative topics, such as artificial intelligence, data-based quality prediction or even ecological life cycle assessment. Optimizing manufacturing processes for turbomachines especially aeroengine components are major focus area of the department. Previous research has shown that process planning has a high potential for automated optimization.
