As a player-coach you'll split your time between driving our design system forward and leading and coaching our design team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape both the foundational design infrastructure that powers our product and the team that uses it.Your missionWhat you’ll doDesign leadershipDrive design vision, craft quality and consistencyCoach and mentor designers through 1:1s, design reviews and development plansProvide hands-on guidance on UX fundamentals (user research methods, assumption testing, interaction design principles)Evaluate and evolve our design processes, workflows and tooling to increase team effectiveness, with a focus on integrating AI capabilities where appropriateFoster a culture of creativity, experimentation and customer empathyChampion design thinking and user-centricity across the businessDesign system ownershipTake responsibility for our design system from strategic vision to hands-on executionDesign, build, document and maintain components, patterns and guidelines that enable our product teams to ship consistent, high-quality experiencesCollaborate directly with engineers to ensure correct implementation of design tokens, components and guidelinesExplore and integrate AI-powered tools that improve efficiency and maintain qualityYour profile7+ years of design experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software2+ years experience coaching/managing UX designers - you know how to unlock potential and accelerate growth in othersYou've built design system, including hands-on work (creating component libraries, writing comprehensive documentation, establishing governance frameworks)You understand component architecture, design tokens, accessibility standards (WCAG) and can collaborate effectively with front-end engineersExpert-level proficiency in Figma including variables, component properties and advanced prototyping capabilitiesExperience working in modern product environments with cross-functional teamsFluent in English and a confident communicator who can advocate for design decisions and inspire othersWhat's in for youTeam and culture: A high-performance culture with great leadership and a fun, engaged, motivated and diverse team with people from over 20 countriesMarket: Userlane is a global leader in the rapidly growing Digital Adoption industry.
