We deliver the graphene solutionThe RoleBlack Semiconductor is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Equipment Engineer – CMP (f/m/d) (Chemical Mechanical Planarization) to support and lead the buildout of our Black FabONE semiconductor fabrication facility. This role focuses on the selection, installation, and optimization of CMP equipment and will play a key part in bringing up our cleanroom productionThe successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our CMP capabilities, making a direct impact on the growth and success of our semiconductor manufacturing operationsTo join our team, you should be excited toServe as the CMP equipment lead during the facility’s construction and ramp-up phaseCollaborate with design and facilities teams to define tool layout, cleanroom integration, and infrastructure requirements (chemical delivery, exhaust systems, water supply)Lead the technical evaluation, selection, and procurement of CMP tools in partnership with process engineers and suppliersOversee the installation lifecycle, including delivery, utility hook-up, tool acceptance, and qualificationDevelop and execute preventive maintenance programs and equipment documentationSupport process integration and yield improvement through equipment optimization and root cause analysisYour QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience with CMP equipment in a semiconductor fab environmentProven hands-on experience with tool installation, initial fab ramp-up, or expansion projectsDeep technical expertise in CMP processes, including planarization control, slurry management, and pad conditioning systemsFamiliarity with supporting infrastructure such as slurry delivery, filtration, and waste/sludge managementStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills with the ability to implement corrective actionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teamsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical fieldOur work culturePeople Over Processes. At Black Semiconductor, flexibility is key—we ensure work adapts to life, not the other way around.
