Then become part of our strong and experienced team as a: R&D technical domain lead - Fiber interconnects (m/f/d) immediately & fulltimeYout responsibilities: We are seeking a highly skilled and people-oriented technical domain lead (m/f/d) for the field of optical fiber interconnects to join our R&D team. In this role, you will lead both the technical direction and the team development of our Fiber Interconnect activities — driving innovative solutions while fostering a motivated and collaborative working culture. You will oversee customer-driven, internal, and publicly funded projects on optical fiber interconnects, including active alignment of optical fibers and co-packaged optics for datacom and lidar applications. Beyond managing projects, you will act as a mentor and motivator, ensuring that each team member is empowered, aligned, and developing professionally. Responsibilities: Technical and People Leadership: Lead and develop a team of engineers and researchers working on optical fiber interconnect technologies. Forster a collaborative, motivating, and growth-oriented work enviroment.Project Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of customer-driven, internal, and publicly funded R&D projects in the field of optical fiber interconnects.Strategic Development: Shape the technical roadmap and contribute to strategic planning togesther with Sales, Business Development, and R&D management. Prioritize workloads and ensure efficient internal workflow.Hands-on Technology Engagement: Stay actively involved in R&D lab work to evaluate new concepts and prototype setups.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with customers, vendors, and academic partners to understand requirements, address technical challenges, and present project outcomes confidently.Your profile: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, or a related field.Minimum 3 years of industrial experience in optical fiber interconnects, telecommunications, or photonics, with proven project management experience.Strong people leadership mindset – you enjoy understanding your team members, helping them grow, and building a positive, high-performance team culture.
