Then become part of our strong and experienced team in the R&D department as a: R&D Mechanical Designer (m/f/d) immediately & full timeYour responsibilities: We are actively seeking a skilled and highly motivated R&D Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of our R&D Team, you will be responsible for the concept, design and verification of new hardware in the area of photonics micro assembly & testing machines. We serve international clients across diverse sectors, and we combine cutting-edge engineering with hands-on implementation and global collaboration. Design and engineer custom modules, components, assemblies, or complete systems for photonics micro assembly and testing.Develop, improve, and optimize existing systems with respect to performance, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.Perform mechanical systems sizing, material, tolerance, and manufacturing process selection.Conduct creative brainstorming sessions and develop innovative design solutions for technical challenges that have not yet been solvedUse of mechanical and thermal simulations to analyze the behavior and optimize the design.Produce 2D and 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, parts lists (BOMs), and full documentation.Support machine installation, commissioning, and final acceptance testing.Participate in project meetings with internal teams and international clients; communicate design progress and design decisions.Work closely with cross-functional teams: operational design, systems engineering, automation, electrical, production, and logistics.Your profil: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in special machine construction, optics or precision engineeringStrong skills in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks or OnShape) and a good understanding of manufacturing methods, materials and tolerancesExperience with mechanical/thermal simulations and familiarity with PDM/PLM systemsHands-on mentality and strong problem-solving skillsIndependent, detail-oriented and goal-driven working styleStrong communication skills in English (B2+) and German, with the ability to work effectively in international project settingsFlexible and resilient, thriving in a dynamic R&D environmentWe offer: Unlimited employment relationship & flexible working hoursAppropriate remuneration opportunities & company pension planDaycare allowance for children up to the age of 3Distinctive prospects incl. international career opportunitiesExciting, international clients from a wide range of industriesProfessional Onboarding program and individual supportAnnual employee appraisals for your targeted and individual development/personal developmentCompany fitness and discount opportunities for employees (e.g., City for two, benefits app)Top hardware incl. ergonomic workplace conditionsOf course: regular company events (e.g., summer party, Christmas party, B2Run)Are you interested?
