For permanent employment OHB System AG in Oberpfaffenhofen  is looking for aSystems Engineering Architect (m/f/d) Quantum Technologies Your Tasks Develop and design technical baseline solutions of satellite-based quantum technologies and systemsfor studies and technology development projects (phases 0 / A / B)for implementation projects (phases B / C / D / E)This translates into daily work with focus onQuantum System Architecture Definition and JustificationTrade-offs of technical and programmatic solutionsCoordination of related performance analysisInterface DefinitionDefinition of Development LogicYou will lead the engineering team effort and design trade-offs between the involved disciplines such as thermal, structural, mechanical, optical and electrical.Further, you will act as an interface with the customer and lead technical discussions with regard to understanding the customer's requirements, their feasibility and justification that the system baseline meets the customer's requirements.In order to turn ideas into reality, you will be working with an experienced team to:create and analyse technical specifications of systems and subsystemsensure proper allocation of budgets and maintain them up to datedevelop prototypes and carry out tests to validate the system architectureconduct feasibility studies and risk analyses, budgets definitionYou will participate in or lead proposal creation with focus on quantum technologies and systems, by defining the technical baseline and/or work logic Your QualificationsMaster/PhD in physics or mathematics, ideally with a focus on quantum optics / quantum technologiesStrong understanding of quantum technologies and its application for industry, quantum key distribution, quantum memories, quantum sensing and entanglement as a resource Several years of experience in system architectures including design and implementation of secure and quantum communication systems, ideally for ground and spaceStrong solution oriented, self-managed and pro-active working stylePassion for technology and the motivation to turn ideas into realityExperience in inspiring and leading small teams in technical rolesExperience in system engineering.
