The School of Public Health conducts theoretical, methodological and problem-oriented research on the causes, conditions and consequences of health and illness in all areas of health sciences/public health. The interdisciplinary research agenda of Working Group 3 focuses on social epidemiology and international public health, with a broad emphasis on health inequalities related to, for example, gender and migration. The project ‘GYNVEPI: Toward an epidemiology of gynaecological violence’ is being carried out with the support of an EU-funded ERC Starting Grant. With funding of just under € million, the project will receive support for five years to research violence in gynaecological care in Germany. This opens up a new field of research that has received little attention to date on the planned scale. Using a mixed-methods approach and interdisciplinary research, new insights can be gained to improve patient health. The second phase of the project (2026-2029) is quantitatively oriented and aims to contribute to the development of a questionnaire for research into violence in gynaecological care. The position as a research associate will play a central role in this phase. The candidate is expected to complete their doctorate in direct connection with the project. The project will have inclusion, intersectionality and interdisciplinarity at its core.
