Application Specialist

Job DescriptionIn a nutshellWe’re looking for a curious, tech-savvy Application Specialist to join our forensic software team. You’ll support our customers and internal teams by providing expert guidance on our specialised software solutions used in forensic labs, DNA analysis, and kinship testing. You’ll be the go-to person for troubleshooting, training, documentation, and user support, helping real-world experts solve crimes more efficiently.Where will you be based and what business will you support?You’ll be based in Dresden, supporting our forensic software customers across Europe and collaborating closely with our development, product, and support teams.How can you help us?Customer support & troubleshootingAct as the first point of contact for software-related queriesDiagnose issues and guide users toward effective solutionsProvide expert support to ensure smooth software usageTraining & documentationDesign and deliver training sessions and webinars for usersCreate clear, user-friendly guides and technical documentationHelp simplify complex features for non-technical audiencesProject & product collaborationContribute domain expertise to product developmentAssist in requirements gathering and project coordinationShare creative input to improve software functionality and user experienceQualificationsEducationDegree or vocational training in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related scientific fieldExperienceInitial professional experience is welcome but not required — we value fresh ideas and enthusiasm Prior experience with software tools or digital platforms is a plus.  Skills & attributesStrong analytical thinking and ability to grasp complex topicsSolution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to challengesPassion for software and digital toolsExcellent communication skills in German and EnglishWillingness to travel occasionallyTeam-oriented and comfortable working across departmentsAdditional InformationWe support your development Do you feel you don’t match 100% of the requirements?
