Hendrick Automotive GroupLocation: 6000 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28212TITLE: Senior Tax AccountantREPORTS TO: Tax Director and ManagerMAIN FUNCTION: The Senior Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation and/or review of federal and state compliance workSAMPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review and/or prepare federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C-corporations, trusts and individuals.Review and/or prepare LIFO calculations for all dealerships.Review fixed asset schedules for depreciation for all dealerships.Review various year end tax calculations such as computation of demo wages.Respond to state and federal tax notices on behalf of our dealerships.Assist in gathering information for tax audits.Assist office managers with any tax questions they may have.Research federal, state and local tax issuesResponsible for the mentoring of staffMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:4-Year accounting degreeStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to be a “Team Player”Ability to handle pressure.Handle directions with minimal supervision5-10 years experience in the preparation/review of tax returnsWorking knowledge of applicable tax law and regulationsProficient computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet applications.Experience in Prosystem Tax and Prosystem Engagement is a plus.NOTE:This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties and responsibilities to be performed by this employee.
