Job DescriptionAt Rome2Rio and Omio, we’re now at the beginning of a bold new chapter: launching a premium advertising business that connects our global audience with the world’s top travel and tourism brands.We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer – Advertising to help shape the foundations of this new business. You’ll design ad experiences that balance user trust, business value, and aesthetic quality—ensuring advertising feels integrated, relevant, and delightful within our travel ecosystem.Based in Berlin, you’ll be the first dedicated Advertising Designer in our growing team—partnering closely with the Advertising Product and Engineering teams across Europe and Melbourne while being part of Rome2Rio’s core design team in Melbourne.What You’ll DoOwn end-to-end design for advertising and monetisation products—crafting elegant, user-centered ad experiences across mobile and web.Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Berlin and Melbourne to ensure advertising integrates seamlessly into the Rome2Rio experience.Translate business and revenue goals into intuitive, visually refined design systems and ad placements.Develop consistent ad design frameworks, from sponsored listings and native placements to branded content formats.Partner with Data, Research, and Product to evaluate ad performance and user impact, iterating based on insight.Balance user experience and monetisation, ensuring all ad experiences are meaningful, contextual, and trustworthy.Co-own and extend the Rome2Rio & Omio design system with ad-specific components and visual standards.Lead concept sprints and workshops that explore new advertising formats and user journeys.Advocate for accessibility, usability, and high-quality design craftsmanship across the advertising initiative.QualificationsWhat You'll Bring5–8 years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful, user-centered digital products.Proven track record designing adtech or monetisation experiences, ideally on the publisher side.Deep understanding of how advertising interacts with content and user flow in consumer-facing products.Strong command of interaction design, UI systems, and visual composition (typography, layout, spacing, hierarchy).Proficiency in Figma and responsive design for both mobile and desktop environments.Skilled at navigating ambiguity and defining design direction in fast-evolving product spaces.Excellent communication and collaboration skills—able to work fluidly across teams and time zones (Berlin–Melbourne).Ability to connect user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility with clarity and craft.Additional InformationWhat’s in it for you? #LifeAtRome2Rio Build & Shape This isn’t a hand-me-down sales playbook—you’ll help create it from the ground up.Culture-First We’re a small team with big ambition, and we genuinely care about how we work together.Career Growth Work closely with leadership, influence strategy, and take on high-impact responsibilities from day one.Flexibility & Trust We’re remote-first, results-focused, and offer real autonomy in how and where you work.✈ Explore Fund: Travel perks to help you experience the journeys you help others planRome2Rio is part of the Omio Group, a global travel platform uniting teams across Berlin, Melbourne, London, and beyond.
