About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Terminology Management Specialist to join our team at ZEISS Group. As a key member of our terminology team, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and managing our company's terminology databases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing terminology and metadata in German and English to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Identify suitable term candidates and prepare them for internal decision-making processes.
  • Support the development and evaluation of a suitable database structure and terminology guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, evaluate, and implement terminology workflows.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of approved terminology databases and ensure their accuracy and consistency.
  • Optimize and document relevant processes to improve terminology management efficiency.
  • Support the preparation and implementation of training measures to ensure terminology knowledge is up-to-date.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in terminology management, linguistics, or a related field. Your expertise in terminology management, ontologies, and XML will be essential in this role.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or Bachelor's degree program in translation, terminology, language technology, computational linguistics, technical writing, or a comparable field.
  • Initial experience in terminology work, with a strong understanding of German and English terminology.
  • Knowledge of terminology management, ontologies, and XML, as well as basic understanding of databases and translation processes.
  • Proficiency in CAT and CCMS tools, with strong analytical and independent working skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Very good German and English language skills, with the ability to communicate complex terminology concepts effectively.
