Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT. As a researcher in laser medical technology, you will be responsible for developing laser surgery prototypes for clinical use, implementing FPGA-based real-time control systems, and commissioning laser surgical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop laser surgery prototypes for clinical use
  • Implement FPGA-based real-time control systems
  • Commission laser surgical systems and perform preclinical tests
  • Plan and implement research projects under your own responsibility
  • Develop and test algorithms for real-time data processing

Requirements:

  • University degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field of study
  • Specialist knowledge of rapid control prototyping and programming of FPGA-based real-time systems
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English
  • Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C, VHDL, and Simulink is advantageous

Appointment and Remuneration:

Appointment, remuneration, and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD).

Working Hours and Part-Time Options:

Weekly working time: 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.

Initial Limited Period:

The position is initially limited to 2 years.
