Head of Chemical Engineering

We're on a mission to revolutionize the recycling of mixed plastic waste, and we need a visionary leader to spearhead our chemical engineering efforts. As the Head of Chemical Engineering, you'll be responsible for driving the scale-up development of our breakthrough technology, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and oversee the development of our first 'end-to-end-lab' technology scale-up, ensuring safety protocols, equipment procurement, and process design are in place.
- Lead the establishment of our first 'out-of-the-lab' technology scale-up, overseeing site and partner selection, process design, construction, and equipment acquisition.
- Enhance our understanding of chemical engineering design choices to inform our vision and strategy.
- Engage with key industry collaborations and partners, exploring new opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Build and mentor a team of outstanding chemical engineers, driving growth and development within the company.
- Collaborate with the Head of Research and their team to ensure a cohesive approach to technology development.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in chemical engineering, including industry experience in the chemical or petrochemical sector.
- Reactor and process design, procurement, and scale-up experience.
- Problem anticipation and creative problem-solving skills.
- Team leadership, supervision, and development expertise.
- Ability to navigate scaling parameters and quantitative determination.
- Background in chemical recycling, high-pressure reactions, or corrosive environments is beneficial.
- Proficiency in English is required, German is a plus.
