PhD Research Scientist in Hybrid Modeling

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD research scientist to join our team at Robert Bosch GmbH. As part of our advance development team, you will work on an innovative project focusing on hybrid modeling techniques for eBike drive units.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with various interdisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of advanced NVH solutions. Our goal is to make eBike drive units as silent as conventional bikes.

About the Project

The PhD project covers the following:

  • To develop hybrid modeling techniques that combine the strengths of theoretical understanding and artificial intelligence to raise NVH possibilities in eBike drive units.
  • To analyze the transfer path of structure-borne noise in eBike drive units and identify areas for improvement.
  • To experimentally validate the developed models and provide recommendations for implementation in new products.

You will be supported by a network of experts in fields like dynamics and vibrations, acoustics, mechanical design, gears, motors, control engineering, simulation, and AI.

Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • An excellent Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • A strong background in major fields of expertise, such as theoretical mechanics and artificial intelligence.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills and sufficient German skills.
  • Curiosity, creativity, high intrinsic motivation, quick comprehension, independent, and autonomous working style.

Salary and Location

We offer an estimated salary range of €55,000 - €70,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and bonuses. The position is based in Kusterdingen, Germany.
