Electrical and Software Engineering Director

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Software Engineering Manager to lead our team of engineers in the design and development of electronics and software products. The successful candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems hardware and software/firmware design, as well as experience in managing engineering teams and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of electronics and software products, including embedded systems hardware and software/firmware design.
  • Manage engineering teams and projects, including estimating, tracking, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain standards for design rigor and verification, and ensure that all engineering deliverables meet these standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, and sales, to develop and launch new products.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, and provide coaching and feedback to ensure their growth and success.
  • Manage engineering budgets and resources, and make strategic decisions to optimize resource utilization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with engineering peers and SRAM senior managers around the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience as an engineer developing designs within areas of responsibility supporting new product development.
  • First experience in leading a team preferred, but not required.
  • Exposure to full cycle product development, including product definition, design, testing, qualification, certification, and field verification.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems hardware/software/firmware design and PCB design from concept through manufacturing.
  • Self-directed, resourceful, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment on open-ended problems.
  • Exposure to stage/phase-gate and Agile product development processes.
  • Systematic approach to problem-solving and issue resolution, combined with good understanding of the relevant technologies and their practical applications.
