About the Role

DSJ Global is seeking a highly experienced Hardware and Software Engineering Manager to lead our team in Dusseldorf. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge electronic and software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Oversight: Lead the architecture design and full lifecycle development of electrical and software engineering deliverables for embedded systems.
  • Testing and Integration: Oversee the development of hardware and software for production testing and continuous integration (CI) systems.
  • Standards and Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce design standards, conduct peer reviews, and implement verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
  • Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation of design processes, including specifications, trade-offs, and experimental results.
  • Project Management: Own, estimate, and track task progress throughout all project stages to meet performance, cost, manufacturability, and time-to-market goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with team leaders, product managers, and engineers to create optimized product architectures and facilitate problem-solving within the design team.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and develop engineers, providing coaching and feedback to foster their growth and development.
  • Strategic Management: Manage strategies and decisions across multiple projects, participating in project planning and resource allocation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize lean product development principles to enhance efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Quality Assurance: Promote quality as a core value throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Budget Management: Oversee engineering budgets for direct reports and projects.
  • Talent Acquisition: Hire and integrate new engineering resources as necessary.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with Engineering Manager peers and senior managers globally through collaboration and communication technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering design and development for new product initiatives.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of full product development cycles, including definition, design, testing, and verification.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems hardware/software/firmware design and PCB design.
  • Experience with Agile product development methodologies.
