Job Description

Position Overview

The Universität Konstanz is seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Department of Literature, Art and Media Studies. The successful candidate will contribute to the ERC project "Off the Road: The Environmental Aesthetics of Early Automobility" and develop an independent research project on environmental knowledge in early twentieth-century North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute expertise on methods of history of knowledge/science to the ERC project
  • Develop an independent research project on environmental knowledge in early twentieth-century North America
  • Co-organize a conference on environmental knowledge
  • Publish research results
  • Perform minor administrative duties

Requirements

  • A very good doctoral dissertation with a focus on history of knowledge or history of science
  • Interest in the environmental humanities and North American history
  • Ability to attend in-person events in Konstanz about once a month
