Job Title: Product Development Engineer

Shape Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the development of new automotive components, including design verification and engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of Body-in-White, Crashmanagement-components, and battery housings for German OEMs, with a preference for BMW.
  • Collaborate with product designers and CAE-engineers to create innovative solutions that meet customer specifications.
  • Apply mechanical theory, material properties, test protocols, and manufacturing processes to drive product design and development.
  • Develop component and system-level product designs using engineering applications, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to meet development timelines.
  • Participate in DVP&R, DFMEA, and PFMEA development meetings.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Engineering.
  • Native or fluent German and fluent English language skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, customer approach, and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in impact energy management engineering.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience in product, process, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Knowledge of CAE-simulations and specific customer requirements.
  • Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA.
  • Understanding of vehicle packaging and Body-in-White or Crashmanagement systems.
