About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled engineer to join our team at Forward Engineering GmbH. As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of innovative and sustainable products for the automotive and aerospace industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the methodical concept and product development for lightweight structures with a focus on composites and technical polymers
  • Participate in the area of 3D printing, planning and execution of print jobs in filament printing
  • Material and process evaluation, global material- and technology scouting
  • Calculation of manufacturing costs and accompanying cost engineering
  • Closely cooperate and coordinate with the project team involved, the respective technology partners, institutes and suppliers worldwide
  • Support on internal and external projects
  • Presentation of the project results in the project team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in mechanical or industrial engineering, with a specialization in product development, vehicle design, aerospace, plastics technology/composites or a comparable qualification. Industrial experience in the areas of structural design & manufacturing, composites and/or plastics technology is an advantage. You will also need to have excellent material know-how and its application in product development, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to motivate your project team. Fluency in English and German is required, and flexibility and willingness to work in international projects are essential.
