Solar Grid Connection Specialist

About the Role

SUNOTEC, a leading European company in utility photovoltaic plant construction, is seeking a skilled Grid Connection Manager to join its team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful grid connections for our PV and BESS plants, as well as third-party EPC projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grid Connection Management: Oversee the grid connections for utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects in Germany, focusing on technical assistance, risk assessment, and cost estimation.
  • Technical Due Diligence: Perform thorough technical due diligence and risk assessments on grid connection schemes and offers received from DNO/TNO.
  • Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate the grid application process, ensuring timely submissions and progress through DNO/TNO processes.
  • Contractor Management: Supervise and manage contractors and suppliers for various elements required for grid connection.
  • Design and Development: Review technical designs for MV/HV, establish preliminary designs, and negotiate grid connection designs.
  • Grid Expertise: Provide general grid expertise and intelligence to support grid connection projects.
  • Certification and Commissioning: Manage the certification process of grid connection and commissioning of MV stations, as well as managing contractors for commissioning HV stations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Proven experience in grid connection, MV and HV construction management, and knowledge of grid connection standards.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and ability to work with project teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Language: Fluent German and English (written and verbal).
