Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team in Darmstadt. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing and controlling various financial aspects of our organization, ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US-GAAP
- Assistance in the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with HGB
- Identification and execution of closing entries, such as provisions, ARAP, and PRAP
- Preparation of monthly financial statements for our US-based subsidiary
- Preparation and documentation of monthly account reconciliations in Blackline
- Assessment and accounting of business transactions
- Collaboration with the Corporate Accounting Team
- Analysis and reconciliation of discrepancies between US-GAAP and HGB
- Preparation and booking of intercompany transactions
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly flux analyses
- Point of contact for auditors and tax consultants
- Continuous improvement of financial and accounting processes to meet Align guidelines
- Coordination of financial matters with other departments, such as Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing
- Collaboration with the exocad America Team in the US
- Project work
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance/Accounting or equivalent
- At least 7 years of practical experience in a similar function
- Knowledge of accounting principles under US-GAAP and HGB
- Desirable: knowledge of value-added tax law
- Desirable: knowledge of tax law
- Excellent knowledge of SAP, preferably S4 HANA
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Fluent German and English skills in writing and speaking
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Independent and reliable working style
