Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator (m/f/x) to join our innovative team focused on advancing the field of radio astronomy. This role is pivotal in the establishment of the German Centre for Astrophysics (DZA) and will be based in Görlitz and/or Dresden.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage various subprojects aimed at developing next-generation radio astronomical algorithms and data processing techniques.
- Establish and coordinate a research group to enhance collaborative efforts.
- Design and implement project plans while ensuring timely reporting.
- Contribute to the evolution of data science initiatives within the DZA.
- Handle administrative duties related to the research project, including writing reports in both German and English, and maintaining communication with project partners.
- Conduct independent research in key areas such as:
- Infrastructure for managing extensive radio astronomical datasets.
- FPGA-based methods for detecting transient radio events.
- Software solutions for next-generation radio telescopes.
- Participate in local, national, and international conferences, presenting research findings and collaborating with global experts.
- Publish research results in esteemed journals and at recognized conferences.
- Provide scientific support in acquiring advanced scientific and technical equipment.

Qualifications:
- A university degree and PhD in physics, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, astronomy, astrophysics, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge in physics, mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, astronomy, and/or astrophysics.
- Familiarity with European funding mechanisms, procurement, and contract law, along with experience working with industrial partners.
- Proven experience in coordinating project teams and managing research initiatives.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel for professional engagements.
