We are seeking a seasoned EHS professional to lead our environmental, health, and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Job Summary:

The Head of EHS will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's EHS programs. This role involves strategic leadership, regulatory compliance, risk management, and fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic EHS Leadership:
    • Develop and execute EHS strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
    • Provide strategic guidance and leadership on EHS matters to senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international EHS regulations and standards.
    • Monitor changes in EHS regulations and guidelines, and implement necessary updates to company policies and procedures.
  • Program Development and Management:
    • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, programs, and procedures.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits of EHS programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess EHS risks and hazards within the organization, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Training and Education:
    • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to ensure employees are informed and compliant with safety and environmental practices.
    • Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness through regular communication and engagement with employees.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present EHS reports and metrics to senior management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive EHS documentation, including incident reports, inspection records, and compliance reports.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and regulatory bodies to address EHS issues and initiatives.
    • Represent the company in EHS-related forums, meetings, and discussions.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the EHS team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
    • A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in EHS management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
    • Proven track record in managing EHS programs within a pharma environment.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of German and EU EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex EHS data.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in German and English.
    • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage multiple projects, and drive continuous improvement.
