We are Uniper, a company that is pro-actively transforming the world of energy while ensuring security of energy supply. Our Commercial Technology Team in Düsseldorf is looking for a talented individual to join our team.

As a Digital Trading Trainee, you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of Uniper's business, its value drivers, and the business environment. You will learn from and collaborate with experts from many different fields, contribute your ideas, and work on your own projects with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of Uniper's business, its value drivers, and the business environment
  • Learning from and collaborating with experts from many different fields, contributing your ideas, and working on your own projects with various stakeholders
  • Starting in Digital Trading and rotating flexibly upon your individual career development path
  • Working closely with traders and analysts to analyze their business requirements
  • Designing and implementing software solutions with a focus on innovative technologies to accelerate our algorithmic and systematic trading, and advanced analytics capability
  • Aligning with other developers, data scientists, and design architects throughout the full agile development process
  • Writing and running test scripts either manually or through test automation
  • Automating infrastructure, software builds, and delivery processes

Key qualifications include:

  • Successfully completed studies in computer science, engineering, or comparable disciplines
  • Ideally first practical experience gained through internships and/or working student activities
  • Curiosity and openness to working in an international environment
  • Intercultural experience is crucial, experience abroad a plus
  • Sense of responsibility, proactivity, and advanced interpersonal communication skills as well as a drive for continuous improvement with a hands-on mentality
  • Comfortable with programming languages like Python or C#
  • Proficiency with Git
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, IP networking, and cloud technologies is a plus
  • Passion about software engineering and programming
  • Fluency of written and spoken English is required
