We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join our team at Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG in Erlangen, Germany. As a key member of our Grid Solutions Business Unit, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing open- and closed-loop control systems for HVDC Converter Systems.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions. You will work closely with other engineers and project teams to ensure the successful implementation of control software in MATLAB/SIMULINK, as well as verification using software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement control systems for HVDC Converter Systems
  • Implement control software in MATLAB/SIMULINK and verify its performance
  • Contribute to the clarification of technical requirements within project teams and with customers
  • Work collaboratively with a close-knit team on project development

Requirements:

  • University degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering or similar, and first professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of MATLAB/SIMULINK, including modeling and verification
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the energy transition
  • Basic knowledge of converter technology and open- and closed-loop controls
  • Experience in configuring automation systems is an advantage
  • Excellent English language skills; German language skills are also an asset

As a valued member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary range of approximately €80,000 - €110,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience.
