About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Head of Environmental, Health, and Safety to lead our EHS initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Job Summary:
The Head of Environmental, Health, and Safety will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's environmental, health, and safety programs. This role involves strategic leadership, regulatory compliance, risk management, and fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic EHS Leadership:
- Develop and execute EHS strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership on EHS matters to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international EHS regulations and standards.
- Monitor changes in EHS regulations and guidelines, and implement necessary updates to company policies and procedures.
- Program Development and Management:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, programs, and procedures.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of EHS programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess EHS risks and hazards within the organization, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to ensure employees are informed and compliant with safety and environmental practices.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness through regular communication and engagement with employees.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present EHS reports and metrics to senior management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive EHS documentation, including incident reports, inspection records, and compliance reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and regulatory bodies to address EHS issues and initiatives.
- Represent the company in EHS-related forums, meetings, and discussions.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the EHS team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in EHS management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing EHS programs within a pharma environment.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of German and EU EHS regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex EHS data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in German and English.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, manage multiple projects, and drive continuous improvement.
