Java Developer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team at Optimus Search in Hamburg. As a Java Developer, you will play a crucial role in scaling our client's market platform to support business growth and expand their product portfolio with more financing solutions.

You will work closely with a Product Owner and an agile cross-functional team to deliver innovative software solutions. Our client is an internationally certified payment institute that enhances corporate payments with working-capital optimization, financing, and lean processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable Java applications using Spring and Hibernate
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and design principles
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
  • Work with the team to resolve technical issues and implement new features

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Java development
  • Strong understanding of software paradigms and design principles (OOP/FP, MVC, Dependency injection)
  • Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate
  • Knowledge of relational databases and experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL
  • Strong testing habits (Junit, Mockito, Jest, etc.)
