Mabanaft, a leading energy trading company, is seeking an experienced Product Control Specialist to join our team in Hamburg HafenCity. As a key member of our energy trading team, you will play a vital role in delivering innovative solutions for the energy market.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in energy trading and product control. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our energy trading operations, including daily reconciliation of physical and derivative trades, calculation and monitoring of daily positions, and preparation of daily/monthly profit and loss reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily reconciliation of physical and derivative trades
- Calculation, monitoring, and reporting of daily positions
- Daily clearing of exchange trades
- Preparation of daily/monthly profit and loss reports
- Assistance in developing and ensuring robust controls across ETRM systems
- Participation in projects to develop and streamline ETRM systems
- Implementation of best practices in reporting
- Support in troubleshooting issues
- Management of biofuels exposure reporting and German GHG savings
Requirements
- University degree in finance, economics, or engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong working knowledge of financial markets and instruments
- Commodity experience within liquid fuels is required (middle distillates/light ends)
- Commodity experience within biofuels will be an advantage
- Light experience with power/gas will also be relevant
- VBA/SQL/Python/PowerBI programming languages advantageous
- +2-3 years' experience working with an ETRM system beneficial
