We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our Group Legal Services - Corporate Matter team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of data protection across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly GDPR.
- Collaborate with internal departments to provide guidance on data protection-related issues and ensure adherence to data protection best practices.
- Monitor and report on data protection incidents and their resolution, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide training and awareness programs to employees on data protection topics, ensuring that all staff members understand their roles and responsibilities in protecting sensitive information.
- Document and maintain accurate records of data protection activities, including incident reports and compliance metrics.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities and handle requests and complaints related to data protection.
Requirements
- Completed studies in Business Administration with legal references or completed studies in Law/Business Law (at least First State Examination or Bachelor's degree).
- Initial practical experience in data protection law, gained through internships or legal clerkship.
- Solid knowledge of the GDPR and ability to apply it in a practical context.
- Proficiency in German and English at a negotiation level, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
- A keen eye for data protection risks and details, combined with forward-thinking and a strong solution-oriented approach.
