Senior Claims Governance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant Claims Governance to join our team at Munich Re. As a key member of our Claims Management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive claims guidelines and work instructions, ensuring up-to-date levels of authorities for all functions in Global Claims, and assessing the impact of legal developments on claims work.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain comprehensive claims guidelines and work instructions, standards, and processes for Claims Management
- Ensure up-to-date levels of authorities for all functions in Global Claims
- Assess the impact of legal developments on claims work and amend guidelines and work instructions as necessary
- Closely cooperate with all Claims units regarding global, regional, and local guidelines and work instructions
- Assess risks and identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability, define and review essential risks of the processes for claims management with regard to compliance, anti-fraud measures, and others according to the Group Policies
- Prepare materials and information required in response to internal and external regulatory audits, data calls, and surveys, and assist in preparing responsive communications
- Be the contact for Group Audit for Claims-related requests, internal regulations, and processes
- Plan and conduct internal reviews in Claims units in Munich and international locations
- Communicate review results, including areas of improvement, orally and in writing, and implement appropriate follow-ups
- Qualitatively review the contents of our Claims Management tools, such as the LMR Loss Management Reporting database
- Active involvement in claims topic-related project work, including project lead
- Prepare and conduct trainings on specific governance topics
- Represent Claims' interests in cross-divisional governance-related subjects
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in claims management, reinsurance, and governance. You should have a university degree in law or a comparable formal qualification, expert knowledge of reinsurance and/or primary insurance in claims, and excellent personal network within Munich Re.
You should also have strong communication skills, strong analytical and conceptual skills, and the ability to solve problems. Fluency in spoken and written business English is required, and further languages are an advantage.
