About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting experimental investigations on the methanol-to-olefins synthesis, with a focus on optimizing and evaluating energy requirements and process efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews on the synthesis of methanol to olefins, reaction conditions, and process engineering implementation at the current state of the art.
- Commission and operate a test setup to investigate the reaction kinetics of the methanol to olefins synthesis.
- Operate and calibrate analysis systems, including a gas chromatograph and FTIR.
- Familiarize yourself with experimental processes for catalyst production and kinetic measurement.
- Visualize and interpret measurement data and use a MATLAB model for kinetics fitting.
- Prepare presentations on the progress of your work.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Energy Technology, Environmental Technology, or a comparable field.
- Basic knowledge in the field of reaction engineering and thermodynamics.
- Experience with practical work in the laboratory is desirable.
- Affinity for computer-aided measurement data evaluation and modeling.
- Previous knowledge of working with MATLAB.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
