Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of our Customer Logistics Choice Domain, working closely with feature teams to drive the reliability, quality, scalability, and efficiency of our services.

Your Mission:
  • Drive tech improvements for our services, identifying architectural blockers, reliability risks, and cost leaks, and determining the best solutions to address them.
  • Consult with domain leads on non-trivial decisions, balancing risk, opportunity, and costs.
  • Serve as the information radiator between domain leads, EMs, teams, and relevant groups in Logistics and DH.
  • Participate in the tribe's Backend chapter and contribute to tribe-level technical topics.
  • Solve critical problems for the domain, building consensus and sharing understanding of the solution.
  • Promote best practices across teams.
Your Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding and proven experience of JVM-based technologies, with Kotlin knowledge a plus.
  • Experience with complex microservice architectures, event-driven topologies using Kafka, and their observability.
  • Strong understanding of software stack, cloud infrastructure, and networking, with hands-on experience when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Curious about business goals our systems serve.

  • Track record of sharing knowledge through brown bag sessions, blog posts, or conferences.
