Job Responsibilities

For this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining, designing, implementing, and integrating architectures or elements of architectures for data processing ground segments and their components
  • Maintaining and evolving existing operational data processing ground segment applications or application components, especially for those under configuration control
  • Providing expert advice to the procurement and installation of software, and the coordination of software releases with external providers of support services
  • Generating formal project documentation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Fluency in English
  • A university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or science discipline
  • Excellent technical writing skills, particularly in the area of formal technical documentation
  • Qualification and production phase experience with preparation of integration, E2E SW, and acceptance test readiness/results reviews data packages
  • Experience with engineering activities for IV&V campaigns, including operating and maintaining software systems in Linux, AIX, and Solaris
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming language and experience with Python, Java
  • Software debugging, memory analysis, and profiling skills
  • Experience with software building and packaging, as well as data analytics for satellite Earth Observation product data
Work Arrangement

We follow a hybrid scheme, which means you are expected to work two days per week in the office in Darmstadt (or more if you prefer) and on the remaining days you can work from home.

Work Permit

Applicants must be EU citizens or have a valid work and residence permit for the above-mentioned work location.
