Senior AI Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Research Scientist to join our team at Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge AI technologies to optimize foundation models for inference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop novel AI algorithms and systems to improve the inference of foundation models
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI technologies into our cloud services
- Conduct research and development in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision
- Develop and maintain high-quality software components using Java, C++, Python, or related languages
- Work closely with customers and product orgs to understand their needs and develop solutions
Requirements:
- PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Strong programming skills in Java, C++, Python, or related languages
- Experience with machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision
- Knowledge of mathematical optimization, parallel and distributed computing, and high-performance computing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with programming hardware accelerators (e.g., GPU, TPU, Neuron)
- Experience with inference optimization of foundation models (e.g., model compression techniques, architectural optimization)
- Experience with inference engines (e.g., vLLM, TGI)
