Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at Universität Hamburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting ecotoxicological experiments with fish, including behavioral tests and measurements of metabolic performance.
About the Project
The HABBAL project is a research consortium funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The project aims to determine the tolerance limits of fish to toxic algae and develop early warning systems and preventive measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct ecotoxicological experiments with fish
- Measure and analyze metabolic performance and behavioral responses
- Collaborate with scientists in molecular ecotoxicology, genetics, biochemistry, and socioeconomics
- Contribute to the development of early warning systems and preventive measures
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in aquatic ecology, ecophysiology, and/or ecotoxicology
- Experience in fish care and experiments, aquaculture technology, biostatistics, and programming (R, Python)
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Ability to work in an international team
