The Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie is a leading research institute in molecular pharmacology, offering a dynamic and collaborative environment for scientists from around the world.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our team in molecular neuroscience and membrane biophysics. The successful candidate will have a strong background in neuroscience, cell biology, or biophysics and a strong track record of accomplishment.

The project focuses on uncovering mechanisms that control neuronal membrane shaping, which is crucial for understanding neurological disorders such as intellectual disability and schizophrenia. The candidate will work on functional studies in genome-engineered human stem cell-derived neurons, interactomics, and bottom-up approaches with purified proteins and model membrane systems.

The position is initially funded by the NeuroCure Research Fellowship and is limited to 2 years. The working language is English, and the compensation is in accordance with the public collective bargaining agreement (TVöD Bund) including the usual social benefits.
