Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and manage our site supply chain/purchasing team to deliver site-operational objectives and provide outstanding supply chain service levels on quality and delivery while achieving lowest total cost of acquisition for direct material, indirect goods and services, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Buyers responsible for acting on order suggestions and exception messages generated by the MRP system.
  • Collaborate with the Global Supplier Performance Group to manage supplier performance for site-specific deliveries/suppliers.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives to meet annual operating plan and long-term business objectives.
  • Manage and minimize supplier inflation/price increase requests and escalate to the appropriate team for further leverage.
  • Support site PWC objectives by leveraging inventory management opportunities and supplier payment terms.
  • Ensure utilization of strategic tools and processes to achieve objectives of improved on-time delivery and quality and reduced cycle times and total cost of acquisition.
  • Facilitate and oversee critical supply-site quality issues between Operations, Engineering, Customers, and Suppliers as required.
  • Work with platform and GSC cross-functional teams to support and drive sourcing initiatives to reduce costs, rationalize the supply base, and leverage new technologies.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in supply chain, procurement, or materials management.
  • 10+ years' experience in managing people.
  • Proficiency in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) or material requirements planning (MRP) systems, particularly SAP.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • Skill in negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors and partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Experience with change management and growth development planning.
  • Very good knowledge of German and English.
