This is a highly skilled carpentry position within our facilities maintenance team, requiring extensive experience in critical facilities maintenance and carpentry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of construction surveillance, safety protocols, and quality standards for military infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

">
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on critical facilities, including wood and metal doors, locks, windows, metal wall stud framing, painting, tile, and laminated flooring.">
  2. Conduct door hardware maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting doors and related mechanical and electromechanical devices.">">
  3. Carry out ancillary carpentry work related to door and window openings.">
  4. Construct or modify building partitions and ceilings as needed for door installation.">
  5. Demolish and prepare rough openings for replacement of fire-rated, sound-rated doors.">
  6. Install new frames, doors, and hardware.">
  7. Collaborate with electricians for programming of door controls and automatic door operators.">
  8. Install and replace carpeting, replace tile, laminated floors.">
  9. Install and repair ceiling grid systems.">
  10. Install non-load bearing walls to meet requested sound transfer ratings.">

Requirements:

  1. A High School diploma or GED with at least six (6) years of experience.">
  2. Completion of an HVAC technical training program in a vocational or technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program is preferred.">
  3. A Top Secret Clearance is required.">

Abilities and Physical Demands:

  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.">
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.">
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.">
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.">
  • Possesses good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.">
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.">
  • Tells when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.">
  • Applies general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.">
  • Combines pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.">
  • Sees details at close range.">
  • Listens to and understands information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.">

The salary for this position is approximately $85,000 per year.
