Data Engineering Manager

As a seasoned Data Engineering Manager at Babbel, you will lead a multidisciplinary team to design and develop high-quality data pipelines and infrastructure for our personalization features.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring team growth and individual development.
- Collaborate with product managers to drive technical discovery and delivery of innovative features and microservices.
- Implement best engineering practices to ensure the integrity, compliance, and security of the team's outputs.
- Mentor team members on communication and engineering aspects, identifying and addressing gaps in team capabilities and performance.
- Optimize agile methodologies and engineering excellence to enhance development efficiency and team dynamics.
- Build and nurture a diverse and inclusive team environment, valuing every member's contribution.
- 5+ years of software development experience using Python, SQL, and event streaming technologies, as well as cloud services in a production environment.
- 2+ years of experience in managing a team, with a focus on mentoring and tech leadership.
- Experience in test automation and building data observability and quality control solutions.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies, adapting processes to suit project needs and team dynamics.
- Skill in effective communication and collaboration across teams and disciplines.
- Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within your team.
- Eagerness for continuous learning, staying updated with industry trends and exploring new tools and techniques.
- Hands-on experience in building data-intensive event-driven microservices using AWS Kinesis.
