Job Responsibilities


As a Data Processing Engineer - Ground Segment Expert, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our online Ground Segment elements specifically for level 0, level 1, and level 2 near real-time data processing. Your tasks will include:



  • Defining, designing, implementing, and integrating architectures for data processing ground segments and their components.
  • Maintaining and evolving existing operational data processing ground segment applications or application components, especially for those under configuration control.
  • Providing expert advice on the procurement and installation of software and coordinating software releases with external providers of support services.
  • Generating formal project documentation.
  • Fluency in English.
  • A university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering/science discipline.
  • Excellent technical writing skills, particularly in formal technical documentation such as requirements, design documentation, test procedures, and maintenance procedures.
  • Qualification and Production Phase with preparation of Integration, E2E SW, and Acceptance Test Readiness/Results Reviews data packages.
  • Engineering activities for IV&V campaigns, including operating and maintaining software systems in Linux, AIX, and Solaris, software testing, unit test suite maintenance, automated testing, verification, and validation, operational Earth Observation science data processing, C/C++ programming language, Python, Java, software debugging, memory analysis, and profiling, software building, and packaging, and Data Analytics for satellite Earth Observation product data.


Work Arrangements


We follow a hybrid scheme, allowing you to work two days per week in our office in Darmstadt and the remaining days from home. This flexibility enables you to balance your work and personal life while being an integral part of our team.
