Join Our Team as a Data Protection Consultant

We are Uniper, a leading energy company, and we are looking for a highly skilled Data Protection Consultant to join our team in Düsseldorf, Germany.

About the Role

  • As a Data Protection Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of our German entities in the Energy Assets domain with data protection regulations.
  • You will act as a DPO for certain German entities, providing support to the business on data protection queries, answering subject access requests, and advising on Germany-specific data protection issues.
  • You will need to travel regularly to the locations of the Assets to create and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and carry out audits or support in audits as necessary.
  • You will be working closely with our Privacy Team to carry out your duties.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and German
  • Prior data protection related work, inhouse or in a law firm, is essential
  • Data Protection Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or their equivalents from other certification bodies are mandatory
  • Knowledge of data protection laws including but not limited to the GDPR/BDSG, as well as an understanding on how to assess technical and organisational measures
  • Understanding of ISMS Audit requirements under ISO standards as well as BSI Basic Protection Requirements in relation to data protection
  • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and present complex technical topics to them
