Internship Opportunity in Satellite System Ground Segments Division
EUMETSAT is seeking a highly motivated and skilled intern to join its Satellite System Ground Segments Division. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a challenging project related to the Enhanced Data Collection Platform (E-DCP) Transmitter Standard.
About the Project
The E-DCP is a critical component of EUMETSAT's data collection service, enabling the collection of environmental data from remote and inhospitable locations. The new standard aims to improve the performance and efficiency of the E-DCP, and the intern will play a key role in analyzing its feasibility and expected performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing MSG and MTG DCP technical documentation, including operational principles.
- Familiarize yourself with the current TD-16 standard and the new CGMS E-DCP standard.
- Analyze the feasibility and expected performance of the new standard applied to MSG and MTG.
- Generate a set of operational and non-operational scenarios to measure the performance margins of the new E-DCP for EUMETSAT's GEO spacecraft.
- Develop test tools in MatLab and/or C++ to run the selected scenarios.
- Evaluate the performance of the systems under different scenarios.
- Generate reports and Technical Notes as needed.
- Support day-to-day activities within the team.
Requirements
- Good understanding of modern signal processing techniques.
- Good understanding of space telecommunications systems.
- Practical experience in C, C++, or MatLab.
- Practical experience in reading and assessing technical documentation.
