Senior Field Application Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Application Engineer to join our team at Supermicro. As a key member of our sales and technical team, you will be responsible for technical sales activities in new and existing opportunities, working closely with sales and extended teams to ensure overall technical design proposals meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee implementation of technical solutions
  • Work closely with sales and extended teams to map end-user customer business and provide optimized technical solutions
  • Develop and review systems solutions, technical bid responses, and presentations
  • Manage and lead product HW and SW engineers during product development
  • Manage and lead teams during investigation and resolution of problems in the field
  • Visit on-site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolution
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering discipline; computer science, computer engineering, and electrical engineering preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and business sense required
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center or IT Infrastructure experience desired
  • Strong background and experience with x86-based server architecture
  • Solid HW system design and diagnostics skills
  • Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization platforms is a plus
