About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our team at Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH - R28. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining security tooling for our Hypervisor and Kernel components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop code analysis tools, security scanners, and fuzzing tools to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in our Hypervisor and Kernel components.
  • Maintain and improve existing security tooling to ensure it remains effective and efficient.
  • Evaluate security problems in Kernels and Hypervisors, and related components, and propose security mitigations.
  • Reproduce security issues, propose security mitigations, and contribute to their deployment.
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to ensure the highest level of security and quality.

Requirements
  • Experience in professional software development.
  • Programming experience in C and at least one scripting language like Ruby, Python, or Bash.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Affinity or experience in static code analysis, fuzzing, or security testing.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge in Linux kernels, Linux distributions, or similar operating environments.
