Ammunition Maintenance Worker

Join the U.S. Army Europe and Africa team as an Ammunition Maintenance Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks involved in the maintenance, renovation, and modification of ammunition, ammunition components, and explosive items. Your duties will include visually inspecting items for proper identification and condition, informing your supervisor of any defects, and performing manual assembly or disassembly duties on a production line type operation. You will also operate pneumatic and/or electric driven machines, both automatic and semiautomatic, and perform preventive maintenance on the machinery operated. Additionally, you will be responsible for packing and loading unserviceable or deteriorated items to trucks and unloading at the demolition area, and assisting in the assembly and/or laying out of items for burning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, renovation, and modification of ammunition, ammunition components, and explosive items
  • Visually inspect items for proper identification and condition
  • Perform manual assembly or disassembly duties on a production line type operation
  • Operate pneumatic and/or electric driven machines, both automatic and semiautomatic
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery operated
  • Pack and load unserviceable or deteriorated items to trucks and unload at demolition area
  • Assist in assembly and/or laying out of items for burning

Requirements:
  • No specific education required
  • Ability to perform duties after technical on-the-job training
  • Desirable: German driver's license class B
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift operator license
  • English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level C1 required
