Ammunition Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled Ammunition Maintenance Worker to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As an Ammunition Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks involved in the maintenance, renovation, and modification of ammunition, ammunition components, and explosive items.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Visually inspect items for proper identification and condition, and inform supervisor accordingly on obvious defects.
  • Perform manual assembly or disassembly duties on a production line type operation, working at several different workstations.
  • Assemble or disassemble complete end items, major subassemblies, or component parts as called for in the job order.
  • Operate pneumatic and/or electric driven machines, both automatic and semiautomatic, either directly or by remote control.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the machinery operated.
  • Apply marking using brush, roller, or spray paints equipment.
  • Mix colors, paints, and thinner to meet required color and consistency.
  • Pack and load unserviceable or deteriorated items to trucks and unload at the demolition area.
  • Assist in the assembly and/or laying out of items for burning, to include the arrangement for and feeding of small arms ammunition to the deactivation furnace.
  • Clean areas in preparation for future burning or detonations.
Requirements:
  • No specific education required.
  • Applicant must be able to perform the duties of the position after technical on-the-job training.
  • German driver's license class B desired.
  • Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator license.
  • English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level C1 required.
Working Conditions:

The incumbent of this position is obligated to perform TDY within and outside Germany, shift work, weekend, and holiday work. Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
