- Identify and implement process improvements to automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for greater scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve critical project goals.
- Establish and define data engineering processes and governance standards.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role working on relevant production/live projects.
- Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and ETL tools.
- Proficient in programming languages such as R, Java, Scala, or Python.
- Experience with big data tools Hadoop, Spark, and data pipeline and workflow management tools Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow.
- Proficient in integrating and consolidating disparate data streams into a cohesive and reliable data resource using tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache NiFi.
- Skilled in cloud services AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, with a solid understanding of distributed computing principles and commonly used cloud tools.
- Proficient in building and optimizing 'big data' pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
- Independent work ethic with a proven track record of initiative and successful project completion.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Leadership experience or potential with the ability to guide and inspire team members.
