Job Title: IT Student Assistant

FLOCERT GmbH, a leading global certification body, is seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented individual to join our IT team as an IT Student Assistant. This part-time position (20 hours per week) is limited to 12 months and is based at our Headquarter in Bonn, Germany.

About the Role

The IT team at FLOCERT is responsible for the ICT infrastructure of all business processes within the company connected to the Fairtrade certification. As an IT Student Assistant, you will be part of a small, dynamic international team and will be responsible for:

  • Dispatching helpline tickets and solving 1st level incidents and service requests
  • Printer maintenance, including exchanging printer cartridges
  • Instructing users on the correct and efficient use of FLOCERT IT systems
  • Supporting the fixing of laptop problems
  • Supporting ground floor conference equipment users
  • Communicating with users face-to-face, over the phone, via Skype or via MS Teams to help set-up ICT related systems or resolve issues
  • Helping to set up workplaces for new employees
  • Helping to install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Helping Bonn employees when moving offices inside the building
  • Coordinating hardware replacements and peripheral devices
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Officially enrolled at a university in any discipline
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written
  • First experience with Microsoft operating systems, both server and desktop
  • Further knowledge of Linux, mobile device management/telephony systems, MS Azure Active Directory, IT user support, and ticketing systems would be an asset
  • ITIL knowledge (problem and incident management processes) would be an advantage
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Pro-active, hardworking, and reliable individual and workstyle
  • Excellent communication skills, flexible, experience in dealing with different cultures
  • Strong dedication towards customer service
  • Motivation for Fairtrade
