Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct early involvement in new product development as a cost and value engineer for mechanical commodities
  • Create cost transparency, define target costs, and identify cost-saving measures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product designs for cost efficiency and sustainability
  • Evaluate competitor analysis and suggest design changes for competitive positioning
  • Work with procurement engineers to monitor cost implementation

Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Long-term experience in product development or cost and value engineering
  • Strong track record of implementing improvement measures
  • Expertise in handling mechanical commodities like casting, machining, and assembly processes
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Fluency in English, German is a plus
